When I am sending a new email, I can begin to type the recipeints name and it
will automatically give me a list of possible contacts to choose from. My
Director used to use Express and recently changed to Outlook. His will not
bring up a list of possible contacts. Is there a setting to enable for this
to work? I have looked and can't find one. I do know that if I haven't used
a particular contact, it doesn't show in the list until next time. His
doesn't do that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of Outlook are you using? The option to suggest names is in
OL2003 (and if I remember right OL2002) is here: Tools menu > Options >
Email > Advanced

That's because this feature has nothing to do with Contacts. What it shows
are those addresses to which you (or he) has written already. Up to 1,000
resolved addresses are retained independently of your contacts.

For Outlook 2002/2003, click Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail
Options. Put a check by "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc
fields"
I do know that if I haven't used a particular contact, it
doesn't show in the list until next time.

Correct.
