outlook will not open

xp pro with outlook 2000
when we try to open outlook we get a message to the effect
appver 9.0.0.6604
modname mcmapi.dll
modver 7.0.1.3
offset 0000369f

we have tried detect and repair
we have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2000
we have the latest office updates

any ideas

A Google search told me that MCMAPI.DLL is a McAfee SpamKiller file. Do you
have SpamKiller installed, or did you recently remove it? Can you open
Outlook in safe mode? (See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;197180 if you don't
know how to use the /safe startup switch.)
