Outlook won't open since a crash

Last week my Gateway crashed and since then I have not
been able to open Outlook. When I try to open it I get a
message to create a new profile which is not what I want
to do. I called my internet provider who told me how to
make Outlook Express my default so I have been able to
get the messages I have received in the past week (since
I have been unable to access Outlook). But, all of my
old messages and my contact list are still in Outlook.
Anyone have any idea how I can get Oulook to open? Maybe
it is a problem with my settings, but I really have no
idea. Thanks in advance.

I had same thing happen after downloading and installing
winXP current patch. 814995 or something like that. They
issued it December 27, 2003. Try uninstalling this patch
if you have in fact downloaded it.
