Outlook XP keeps receiving same emails again and again

Hi

I need your help - please.
Since I installed Outlook XP on my new computer every
time I open it, it retrieves all the emails from my
server, even if it has already received them. So I get
everything 5, 10 or 20 times.
I have the options set to leave on server for 5 days and
then delete so that I can also retrieve them at the
office and on my notebook. This seemed to work fine with
Outlook 98 and 2000.
Is this a problem with my Outlook setup? With Outlook XP
itself (I have all current updates)? Or something else?
I have tried turning off Norton Anti-virus but that makes
no difference.

I can send and receive multiple times within the same
session and it works perfectly. But if I close and re-
open Outlook it starts retrieving them all again.
