Overall Resource filter

Hi I am brand new to Project. What I am trying to do is simple in concept
but not straight forward in implementation.

We have many reports/tasks. How do I see displayed only reports which have
not yet been completed broken down by Resource (developer) all stacked on top
of one another for specified date range?

What I mean is so that u can see which projects each developer is working on
for given day and how much of his time is allocated to each task. Make sense?

Thanks!

Try the Resource Usage View. View/Resource Usage...
A similar view is the Task Usage View. View/Task Usage....
Also, there are some reports, try
View/Reports/Assignment. Then select Who Does What When

Since you are brand new to MS Project, try some of Mike Glenn's tutorials
here:

They seem to be very helpful.

Hi Jim, thank u for the quick reply. I went to the tutorial but this is
still not working for me. I think the Resource Usage is the view I need
though. When I view my tasks in teh GANTT view, I clearly see each task and
subtask assigned to a resource. But when I change the view to Resource Usage
I do not see any tasks or subtasks appearing. Also there are no rows at all
and the Resource Name column is empty. I even tried entering the names of
one of the Resources but this still didn't show anything. What am I doing
wrong?

Hi Ryan,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Never heard of this before! In the Resource Usage view, check
Project/Filtered for: is set for All Resources. What version of Project are
you using? Are you using a server? Does the Task Usage view work OK?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
