Overtime on Sunday (non working day)

Hi All,

I am a Project newbie ! I'm using Project 2003 and have making my first
project plan.

I have set the projects working hours to Monday to Friday, 9am till
5pm. There is some work, however, that needs to be completed out of
hours. I will be required to come in on a sunday for 4 hours.
When I move this task to the Sunday, it says that I have to move it to
Monday or change the working hours of the project.

This is the only task that is required to be completed on the Sunday so
I don't want to change anything else.

Could someone explain how I can do this please? (In simpleton terms)

Hi Adam,

Welcome to the newsgroup!

You could create a calendar (Tools> Change Working Time) to reflect the
Sunday working time. Then assign the newly created calendar as the
calendar for that task. (Double click on the task and on the Advanced Tab of
the Task Information dialog box, select the newly created calendar.) If you
check "scheduling ignores resource calendar" then the resource(s) assigned
to that task will work on Sunday.
