outlook 2003 and 2007 can each use the new unicode format which allows for a
larger .pst file. You will need to create a new .pst file in the new format
and copy your items over from the older .pst file.

Thanks Milly, how do I make this copy to the new pst file? as I do have
currently a outlook.pst file and I guess the new program (outlook 2007) will
create a new outlook.pst file.. how do I port over all that there is in my
old file into the new one?

If you do get Outlook 2007, it is likely that installing and configuring it
will give you a new, empty set of folders. You then open the old PST with
FIle>Open>Outlook Data File and select your old PST. The web site that
follows may give you a good description of how to proceed. Write back if
you have questions. http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/outlookdoesntclose.htm
