"Page cannot be displayed"

Please could someone tell me why I am suddenly getting this message when I
try to open the page www.airedaleso.org.uk/conductor_leader.htm and why,
when I try to access this page online,
Norton keeps popping up with a message saying " A recent attempt to attack
your computer was blocked." The other pages
in the site are all right. I have tried investigating all the hyperlinks on
this page
and removing each one in turn, but I still get this error on this one page.
I think there must be something wrong with my coding, but I don't know what
it is. I would be most grateful for any suggestions.

It opens fine for me. Perhaps your firewall is blocking it? And, what type
of Norton are you talking about...anti-virus, security, firewall, internet
worm protection, etc?

Sorry - Norton Internet Security. I have re-uploaded using the "all pages,
overwriting any on the site" option and all pages are displaying properly at
the moment (I disabled security while I uploaded), however this keeps
happening; I think I have success, then another time when I check, that one
page is unavailable.

It's most likely your Norton Internet Security blocking it. Try Symantec

Turn Norton off.

I'm with ya on that one!
I've had a lot less problems with my puters since I dumped NAV and
WinFax...one left to uninstall as soon as my subscription runs out.

| Then rip it out and throw it away.... 8)

I see. You mean ditch Norton altogether? What AV do you use? I would want
to have something in its place.

M

I use no AV. My development machine is behind a router. It doesn't receive
email. I do that on my Mac. I guess you could consider the Mac OS my
anti-virus of sorts.

T

I use Norton Anti Virus and have never had any problems. However, I do not
use and will not use Norton Internet Security because I have seen too many
issues that other people have, including the one you're facing.

Thank you. Is it all right to use just AV? Silly question - it must be if
that's what you do.

I have the stand alone NAV 2005.

I had used NAV for years and years, when I upgraded to 2005 thats when all
sorts of problems arose...live update crashed every month, memory problems,
no real help on their website...no response from them..I couldnt even find a
Norton forum to ask other people...so I uninstalled it and also Winfax
Pro...that machine is now running perfect.

On this machine...my newer one XP Pro came with a 1 year free Computer
Associates EzTrust Anti Virus and thats what Im using...nice and simple. Im
also running XP's firewall, my ISP also has a firewall too. And of course
both AdAware and Spy Bot Search & Destroy.

On my old machine I installed the free version of AVG and it works fine too.

Thank you Tom and Rob. I have noticed, since your helpful postings, that if
I disable NIS this "problem" page opens without trouble, therefore I must
conclude that you know what you are talking about and will see about
disabling/uninstalling the pesky programme.
