Password Issues

Jason Fields

I am having problems with my Outlook remembering my passwords. My wife runs OUtlook Express 2000 for her at home personal email - I run Outlook 2000 and imported all my email settings from Express. Every time I want to check my email I have to typein the password for my POP3 account - even while Outlook is running. So the automated email check options is void and a big pain in my butt. any help?

Depending on your Windows version, you may want to try one of these MSKB
articles for help with the password retention issue.

For Outlook 2000 or 2002 on Win 98, NT, or 2000:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290684

For Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000:
(CW) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;275465
(IMO) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;259416

For all Outlook versions on Windows XP (note, this article is written for OE
but the solution applies to Outlook as well. Just ignore the parts that
refer to OE):
