Pasting in a screen shot

Why does this not happen? It always used to and it still works in Word.

We'll need a lttle more info. It works fine here (though I normally use
Snaggit which is great)

What version of ppt?
What steps are you taking?
What happens when you try?

I'm just capturing the creen with either PrtSc or alt+PrtSc or Ctrl+PrtSc,
then either using ctrl+v or the clipboard paste functions. Nothing happens.
When I repeat the same actions in Word it's OK.

Be sure PowerPoint is open before you do the screen capture. I believe that
PowerPoint clears the copied information when it is opened.

I've just had to switch the pc off and restart. Guess what? I can now paste
a screen shot. What is that all about?
