Pasting URLs into Word

Help! My job involves pasting web documents into Word and
the URLs get truncated if they are very long. I've heard
Word 2003 solves this problem - is this right? And if so,
if a document has been prepared in Word 2003 and is then
opened by someone using Word 97, is the URL truncated
then, or is it OK, since it was OK in Word 2003?

Unlikely.
Changing the accepted length in the path used in a later version of a
software does NOT have any effect on earlier versions.
