pdfwrite.dot message appears when closing word

receiving the following message each time i close a word document

do you want to save the changes to pdfwrite.dot?

Adobe is one of the worst offenders wrt add-ins in Word. If you are not
using pdfwrite.dot, I would suggest moving it out of Word's Startup folder.

I had a similar problem. I would get a MVB error on startup (which was very
slow) and then occasionally a request to save PDFMaker.dot. When I removed
PDFMAker.dot from the c:\Program Files\....Microsoft\Startup folder the
problem went away.
