PDS Query

Hi

If we update the values (of Multi-Value codes) assigned to enterprise
resources using PDS APIs, the Microsoft Project 2003 Professional (MPP)
interface does not show the updated information in Enterprise resource pool.
I used to following logic using PDS

1.. Logged in to Project server
2.. Checked out an enterprise resource
3.. Updated values of Multi-Values fields for selected resource
4.. Checked in the resource
5.. Fetched the values for the resource to check my updates. The result
was correct and the information was updated.
6.. I opened MPP enterprise resource pool and checked out the same
resource. The values shown here were the old values that were assigned to
the resource before any update was done using the PDS.

Can any one suggest the reason and a solution to the problem.

Thanks

After changes values, you have to sign off from MPP and
then start again.Global resources information saves in
globat.mpt file so when MPP starts then it first read
global mpt file.
I hope it works but If you face the same problem then
let me know.

Thanks for your reply !!!

I just got your point here!! what you said is correct, but in my case i am
not opening MPP application. I have made a seperate application that can
connect to project server using PDS API. Since i dont log in to MPP so I can
not log out of it. I just log in to project server, then check out a
resource and do rest of the steps.

The problem is MPP is neither opened nor logged in this procedure. It is
normally closed during this, and when i start it after updating the
information and open Ent resource pool then (I think) it loads data (skills
assigend to resources) from gloabl.mpt and hense it does not show us the
updated information.

I have tried changing the data in server database also but even then MPP
does not show the updated information and fetches the old information
somehow.

Please feed me with other suggestions also. I look forward to hearing from u
soon

Thanks
