Pens "grey'd out" after SP1 install

Don

I am using OneNote on a Dell Latitude D600 laptop running Windows XP Pro.
Previous to installing SP1, pens worked fine (using the mouse to draw).
After installing SP1, the pens are grey'd out. I cannot select them, and I
cannot draw with them.
Any suggestions?

Actually, I just tried something. I closed the language bar, and the pens
came back.
I had opened the language bar to test the text-to-speech feature and had
allowed it to remain on the desktop.

Go figure.
