Percentage formulas

Can someone tell me how to run a percentage formula? I am
trying to figure out what percent of 100 a number is and I
can't figure out the formula. Help!

If a1 = 12 b1= 45 in C1 =(a1/b1) format as % (answer = 26.67%

used cell references to give the answer in my own worksheet!
