Permanent Highlighting

JennyB.

Seems as if my document has permanent yellow highlighting. On a
previous edit, I highlighted some text and now it won't go away! I can
change the color, highlight the whole document, but when I select the
text and go to "None" on the formatting palatte highlighting option, it
won't go away. Any ideas? I don't need the highlighting anymore!

Hi Jenny-

Are you sure its Highlighting and not _shading_? Select the text & go
to Format>Borders and Shading. Select No Fill there. Perhaps that will
work.

Not shading- yellow's still there.

You wanna try a "Maggie"?

Copy all but the very last paragraph marker to a new empty document.
See if the yellow follows it.

Hi Jenny,

Can you please send us the document? I would prefer the entire document but
if there is content that you don't feel comfortable sharing, then please
delete it so that there is atleast the highlighted text in the document.

It will really help us in diagnosing the problem.

Thanks,
Ritika

For several years I have used a little third-party app called TextSoap
(Unmarked Software; http://unmarked.com/textsoap/) which is useful for
purging code from text and stripping it down the bare essentials.
Don't know why you can't get rid of the highlighting...(have you tried
re-highlighting the text and then clicking on the highlight button on
your toolbar, if you made one), but if you cut the text out of your
document and paste it into textSoap and "scrub," I am sure it will be
gone.
