Photo Editor Issue

I like some this is discussion group has been bitten by the Office 2003
upgrade removing the MS Photo Editor. It was nice to be able to view
thumbnails of the various jpeg's, jpg's, and gif's that I have. With the
installation of Office 2003 Upgrade I can no longer view thumbnails.

Background - running Windows 2000, used Office XP Upgrade to move to Office
XP (I have forgotten the old package maybe Office 2000?). The thumbnails
worked fine. After installing Office 2003, the thumbnails on longer can be
viewed, just icons. I have tried to make changes in the regedit for the
jpg's and gif's, but the program will disallow adding anything. I have tried
to reinstall Office XP Upgrade, but since none of the older programs that
qualify for the upgrade exist on my computer, I can not do the custom install
to get MS Photo Editor reinstalled on my computer.

Is there anyone that can offer a suggestion regarding this issue? PLEASE!
