picture getting truncated

P

pluck

Am using Word 2007. I click on insert, picture, browse to a picture I have
saved and insert it into Word. I am trying to print a DVD cover. I resize the
picture so that it is 10.75 wide x 7.25 high.
When I go to print preview to view and print the cover, the last 1" inch or
so of the picture on the left side is getting cut off.
I tried both portrait and landscape, I put the paper size to legal 8.5 x 14,
set the margins to 0.5 So there is more then enough room on the paper.
This use to work perfectly for me when using Word 2003.
If I try to drag the picture over to the left or right it does not help.
It is like there is an invisable wall that will not let the picture go past
the 10" mark
I have clicked around all through Word trying diffrfent settings and nothing
seems to help.
I honestly doubt there is a solution, and am on the verge of trying to
reinstall word
If anyone needs more info to this problem please let me know as I have also
taknen screen shots of the print preview screen that actually shows how the
picture is getting truncated on the left hand side.
If I am using legal paper I should be able to print a picture that is very
close to the actual size of the paper. Though I understand you can not always
print right up to the very edge of the paper, depending of course on your
printers capabilities.
But like I said, this was not an issue with Word 2003. I am still using the
same good old HP 1110 printer which pretty much prints right to the very edge
of the paper.
Again please feel free to ask for more info if needed. (e-mail address removed)
Thanks much

Yes, I did do a Windows update and in the updates available there was an
update for my printer. But it did not help.
I am not sure if how text or a picture is displayed in print preview is
effected by what printer or driver I am using.
No matter what picture I insert or what size it

Get driver updates from the printer manufacturer, NOT Windows Updates.

Per the HP Website:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=90787

A full feature software and driver package for Windows Vista is not
available for your product. However, the Windows Vista operating system
installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product.

When you connect the product to the computer, Windows Vista detects the
hardware and automatically installs the correct driver. A notification lets
you know when installation begins and when it is complete. You do not have to
download any software or insert the product CD
Does the printer driver really effect how the image will look in print
preview?

Given that information it sure sounds like HP has abandoned development
of that printer, and you are now left in limbo with it. Since it IS a HP
printer, you could try DISabling the "advanced printing features" found
in Printing preferences, Advanced. And see if that corrects the problem.

Humm, I don't see where JoAnn said anything about buying a new printer.
Perhaps you were a bit hasty in your decision to buy? And looking to
place the blame elsewhere? And the language, oh MY!
