Picture in table cell

I have a document which needs to have photographs inserted in several places
(Left, Right, and Top and Bottom wrapping). No matter how I format the
photos, they have a tendency to move around when I amend the text.

I read that it was possible to insert them in a single table cell so I put
this in the position I need and then inserted the photograph. Unfortunately,
the photo was not resized to fit in the cell; in fact, it filled the page
and appears to be in the 'tight' format.

How do I solve this, please?

You need to format the table so that the column width is fixed. The picture
will then resize automatically when it is inserted.

I have tried this many times but still cannot get the
photograph/picture/clipart into a table cell.
E.g. I set up a single cell table. Exact height of row 4cm, column pref.
width 8cm.
I then did Insert | Picture etc but the picture did not resize to fit the
cell.
I also made sure the Resize to fit contents box was unchecked.
Any ideas how I fix this, please?
