pictures not displayed in word after uninstalling mozilla

One of my network users downloaded and installed mozilla without permission.
upon uninstalling mozilla the user now has an issue with pictures not
displaying in word documents. All that is shown is the frame. The Edit
picture tool is grayed out in the toolbar as well.
Also, hyperlinks now point to the users local temporary internet files
folder instead of out to the correct url on the internet.
If anyone has come across these issues before I would appreciate a reply.

Hi Steve,

You didn't mention the version of Word you're using
but can you complete a repair successfully?

Is File=>Web Page Preview working correctly? If not
then Internet Explorer may be damaged and would need
a repair/reinstall from the Windows side.

Hi Bob,
Sorry about that snafu with the version. It is MS Office XP Pro 2003. I've
done the repair for both without positive results. Next will be a reinstall
of Word and IE. I'll be sure and post the results.
