pictures on a publisher web page

Susan

I just finished publishing my first website created in publisher 2003 and
when I go to my website (maineventdayspa.com) the pictures on my page are
blank at first with a small white box with a red square and a blue image,
gradually the pictures load. Is their any way to have the pictures load
faster and with out the white box?

The size of the small header pics is 3kb the others are about 15kb.

Thanks

You cannot get rid of the image placeholders, nor can you get incremental
loading, but you can speed up the loading. Compress the graphics and use
fewer images, as they will load one at a time.

The pictures you are using are larger than you think in their uncompressed
form. Here is one of the 10 images you have in your "banner":

It is 87.3 KB alone.

Ideally optimize and size your images in a third party image editing program
before you insert them. Failing that use the compress graphics feature in
Pub 2003:

pages (2003):

If you have more questions about Publisher webs, then post in the web group
and we will try to help you there: microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign
Please always include the version of Publisher you are using, the URL of
your site and as much detail as possible.
