I'm good with Excel but a novice at pivot tables, and I'm trying to do
something that seems to be unusual. Any help would be appreciated. I'm
in Excel 2007.
I've set the core of my pivot table to summarizing data by max, i.e.,
reporting the maximum value of the source data for each combination of
PT row and column labels. So far, so good.
My difficulty is that I would like for the Totals and Grand Totals
(the far-right column and bottom row of the PT) to report the sums of
the PT's core. For a given Value, it seems there's only one choice for
"Summarize by," driving both the core cells and the totals. Is there a
way to select these separately?
Thanks,
Wallace
