Pivotchart + ODBC + Office 2007

Chris

Hello,

I have the following configuration:
- SharePoint 2003 on the server with the Office Web parts installed
- Office 2007 (Excel, etc.) and OWC11 on my computer.

I want to use the PivotChart Web Part and ODBC to connect to named ranges in
Excel. It works perfectly for computers with Office/Excel 2003 installed, but
I get an error when I try the same with Office/Excel 2007.

Thanks for your help!

I haven't found a working solution yet with Office 2007, not sure if anybody
else out there has had success.

Hi Alvin,

do you mean that you haven't found ANY solution working with Office/Excel
2007? I was wondering if I could use a connection other than ODBC...

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Alvin,

I was finally able to get my ODBC connection with an Excel 2007 named range.
To make it work I had to:
- only use named ranges of finite length. For example A1:F300 would work but
not $A:$F.
- modify some security settings in Excel (trust center) and IE. Not sure
exactly which ones did the trick.
