(Pool) resource calendar v project calendar

Hi, I have a resource pool and a calendar for the resources in the pool.
I want to assign a resource to a project and have the working time result
from the overlap between the resource calendar and the project calendar.
I know I can do this by using task calendars but is there any other way besides
setting a calendar for every task in the project?
