Pop-up - New mail has arrived. would you like to read it now?

YES, yes I would like to read it now for god's sake!!! However, we are using
an IMAP server for email and it doesn't work very well with Outlook.

Every time a new email arrives I get the pop-up I click yes but nothing
happens. How do I fix this?

Please don’t reply without reading the question. To clarify:

Subject: “Pop-up - New mail has arrived. Would you like to read it now?â€

I get a pop-up that states the above. Clicking “Yes†to that pop-up
previously instantiated the email.

Body (which also expresses my cumulative frustration): "...I get the pop-up
I click yes but nothing happens. How do I fix this?"

Clicking yes to this pop-up should take me to the new message, however, now
it does not. This was the behavior before we switched to an IMap email
server (as opposed to POP or Exchange).
