POP3 account errors

This may be a network problem, not an Outlook problem, but TIA for any
suggestions. I have a small home network and am running Outlook 2002 on two
different computers. I have a outside POP3 email account. On another
computer, I can receive mail via the POP3 account but I cannot send mail. I
get the following error message:Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: test
Sent: 12/10/2003 6:44 AM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'(e-mail address removed)' on 12/10/2003 6:44 AM
550 not local host hotmail.com, not a gateway(Note: I changed the actual email addresses in the above message)

What makes me think this might be a network issue is that the problem only
happens on one computer and not on any other. But I'm posting here since the
only symptom is this Outlook problem (every other network operation works OK
and I can't find any different network settings between the two computers).

I hope someone out there can help. THANKS!

Are all the computers using the same internet connection? *or maybe the one
that isn't working is using a dial-up or wireless, or something?*

Thanks for responding to my post. All computers are using the same Internet
connection, a DSL modem connected to a router on my home network.

Try turning on authentication to the outgoing server (on the account, click
"More Settings..." and go to the "Outgoing Server" tab) on the machine with
the problem.
