Does anyone know if it possible to have an ASP form completed online and then
the data values are sent to a Word document with correspoding fields? I've
seen this done numerous times with Adobe Acrobat, but want to do it in Word
for editing purposes.

Yup...I do it all the time.

You use ADO just as you would for an ASP page.

You would just have the ASP page pass the data to a DB on the server
and then write code in the Word doc that would query the DB for the
proper recordset and pull that information into the fields you've
set...using VBA to code the Word form, versus VBS for the ASP page.

You can see some of these similar solutions I've done here:

And you can see a sample doc w/open code for a Word <-> Access ADO DB
connection by going to my forms sample URL at:
http://www.mousetrax.com/techpage.html#autoforms and then download the
sample for the # 5 article in the Please Fill Out This Form series.

I don't think that's exactly what I want to do. I want them to be able to go
to a website, enter form data, when the form is submitted, a Word document
will be created with those values. One that document has been created, jmail
will send an email to the appropriate person with that Word document attached.

Well...that can be done, too. It's just a lot more complex. I'd still
suggest ADO since both ASP and Word handle data through that. That's
why I do so much work in BOTH Word and ASP...cos' the code is so
similar it's easy to write code to both.

Not sure about the Jmail w/Attachment part. I suppose it can be done,
but I've never tried that one.

Good luck...

I'm still confused as to how to go about doing that. I looked at the link
you provided, but couldn't quite understand it. Are there other references
you could point me to?

Well...if you didn't understand it, then you have a lot of learning to
do. Do you know VBA? Do you know ASP?

I'd suggest you check out this book:

I've dealt with VBA a little in macros, but not much. I do know ASP and SQL.
I may have to check the book.
