Port between client and server

What port(s) does Project Professional 2002 use when it
connects to Project Server 2002. We have a firewall in
between and cannot connect from the client to the server.
Cannot log into Project server and all test connections
fail. We are able to login using the install of the
client directly on the server.

Joe:

Project Pro connects directly to the SQL database using port 1433 by
default.

Joe,

1433 as Gary said. I would not recommend openning 1433
through a firewall. This port is specifically targeted by
hackers. If open to the world, your system could be
compromised within hours.

My organization is implementing a custom solution to allow
for remote access through our firewall. We are researching
using Terminal Services, VPN software, and/or Citrix to
allow for a secure, remote connection to 1433.
