PowerPoint keeps configuring every time I open it

I just installed Office 2003 to a Win XP laptop. Every time I open
PowerPoint, I receive the message that Office 2003 is configuring PowerPoint
and it takes awhile to open. The status bar goes across the screen that it
is configuring and then it opens. I did not delete installation files after
the install. Any ideas why this keeps happening? It doesn't happen when I
open other office programs.
