PowerPoint Locks Up When Moving Objects

Using Office 2003 -- PPT keeps locking up my whole computer when I move
objects of any sort -- can be pictures, text objects, charts, etc., Anyone
know how to fix this? It is very frustrating as I have to pwer down hard
(without properly closing) and reboot.

John Langhans, of Microsoft, has previously replied to others with a similar
problem as follows:

"We have seen this symptom reported under the following conditions:

1) Using PowerPoint 2003
2) On Windows XP - Service Pack 2
3) Conflicting 3rd party service or application running (for example, Cisco
Security Agent, version ???)

To verify whether this is caused by some conflicting 3rd party service, use
the System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG.EXE) Diagnostic statup and
Selective Startup modes to see, under which configurations the problem
persists or goes away.

If it is caused by a conflicting service or application, it would be great
if you could share the results of your testing with the rest of the
community by posting your findings to the newsgroup."
