Can anyone help me please!

My Powerpoint programme will not load up properly on the
screen. I have xp and have used this programme
successfully in the past but now it will not load
properly. It tries to load and the Powerpoint screen comes
up but it stays grey with the egg timer showing - then
nothing.

Can anyone help?
