ppt 98 - ability to "lock" elements

K

Kim

I am working with ppt '98 on a mac. The final presentation will be for
pc. I'm wondering if it has the ability for me to "lock" all aspects
of the presentation (ie text boxes, pictures and animations) except
for a few elements that my client will need edible access to in order
to personalize the show for their individual shop, (ie logos and web
addresses). I need them to be able to fill in these areas without
disturbing, accidently or otherwise, all the other areas.

Is this possible? And if not with '98, maybe with any of the newer
versions?

Thanks!

Hi Kim,

Not possible, I'm afraid. With 98 or newer versions. It sure would be a
useful feature, though.

With some extra work, you might accomplish something along the same lines,
though.

Suppose you create the presentations w/o the user-customizable elements,
then export each slide as a bitmap image.

Then bring the bitmaps back into a blank PPT, one per slide.

Add the user-editable ( though I have to confess, I like edible better <g>)
content atop the bitmap and you're most of the way home.
