ppt file size

No matter how much my presentation changes in size (number and size of
images, etc.) the file size never decreases. Is there a way to compact the
file when images are deleted?

Go to Tools > Options > Save and turn off Fast Saves. Now save your
presentation to a new file name. Compare the size to the previous size. Is it
considerably smaller??

Thanks, turning off Fast Save did it. Should have thought of checking
Options.
