Pre-packaged Greeting Card Stock

I'm nearly bald from tearing out my hair. I upgraded to Publisher 2007
because I figured it would be even better than 98. I seem to have been wrong.
I'm trying to print a precut note card that unfolded, measures 8 x 5.5.
Publisher keeps trying to put it on an 8.5 x 11" page, or default to some
Avery product, even though I created a custom page size and told my printer
about it. I want one card, not four, and I want it to print as well as a
12-year-old program did.

Please, while I still have a few strands left on my head, can someone tell
me how can I fix this?

Top fold?

In page setup, Advanced (on the right), Type 5.5 width, 4. height. Select folded
card, half page top fold. The mini-preview should say sheet size 5.5 x 8. Be
certain your printer has this custom size as well.
Insert two pages, page 3 will be your message page if you are printing on both
sides. If you use
page 4 for part of your message, you will have to manually rotate anything you
type. See print preview.

Never mind, Mary, I figured it out. Thanks so much for heading me in the
right direction! I really appreciated it.

I tried what you said to do below but it still will not let me print on
anything smaller than 81/2 by 11.
It also seems to be having problems pulling the card stock paper into the
printer. It is a HP C6280.
I would love to be able to print on these cards. They are blank on the
inside - perfect - but I cannot figure this out.
Help!

What size is your stock? If you are only going to print on the inside there is
no reason to setup a folded card, it is a headache to do with 2007. Simply setup
your printer and paper custom for your stock size. You should have this size on
your screen; go to Arrange, Layout, select your margins, Grid Guides, two rows.
This will allow you to see the fold line.
There are drivers on the HP web site with an August 2009 timestamp. Maybe newer
than yours.
