Several items may hold a tasks in place and not allow it to move even if a
predecessor is present. Check the following.

Has the task actually started? (Is there a %complete or a date in the actual
start column?) If a task has an actual start date of 6/16 with a 3 day
duration, there is no predessor that will push it.

Is there a constraint on the task such as Start No Later Than? Double click
on the task and pull the advanced tab.

What are the relationships among other predecessors. If they are all FS
(Finish to Start) then it should be easy to troubleshoot. Sometimes tasks
are given predecessors (or successors) with FF (Finish to Finish)
relatinships. This gets harder to find. Also look for SF (Start to Finish)
which is very ugly and should not be used if at all possible. Changes to
predessors types can be viewed by double clicking the task and pulling the
predecessor tab.

This one is subtle, but it can happen. In your master project, are you sure
you are referencing the correct locations of the subproject files?
