Hi Ravi,

If you want to prevent the user from printing the document, you would have
to convert it to a .PDF file with the printing facility disabled.

There is nothing that you can do in Word that would prevent as
half-determined person from print the document.

If you put a macro in the document, it will be disabled automatically if the
user has the Macro Security level set to high. If they have it set to
medium, they have the option to disable the macro.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Hi Ravi,

What you are asking for is impossible. Or rather, there are ways round any
security feature of that sort that you might try to implement, so long as
the document remains in Word format.

For instance, most people have their security set to High, which means that
VBA macros won't run unless they have a digital certificate that they choose
to trust.

Even if they do trust the certificate, if they open the file in the free
Word Viewer instead of in Word itself, then the macros will not run because
Word Viewer does not run VBA code at all.

If you *must* have a secure document, i would suggest you buy a copy of
Adobe Acrobat and convert the document to PDF and apply security to the PDF
focument. PDF *does* have a password-protected no-print mode. It is not
uncrackable, but it is much more secure than Word, which is inherently
insecure for this kind of thing.
