Printer installed through Printui.dll not recognized by Publisher

Ryan

Here is the scenario: Lab PC's around campus have their
printers installed for all users using the printui.dll
install command. I am able to print from all the
different programs on the machines (word, excel, IE,
powerpoint, etc.) except Publisher 2002 SP3. Everytime I
go to print I get the error:

"Please choose another printer. Publisher cannot find
the printer "\\printserver\printer" for this publication.
To select a different printer, click OK. To return to
publisher now, click cancel."

Under the printersetup, it shows the printers installed
and lets me view/change the properties. Yet after doing
that, it still gives me the same error when I go to print.
I have tried this with different driver versions and
different printers, so I am almost positive it's in the
way Publisher interperets the printer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong, but were you the one who asked this before?
If so, it is currently under investigation. --

I have found the fix to this problem. Over the past year I've had some
emails sent asking me if I ever resolved this. So now I have dug up
the message and will report the fix. All you have to do to solve this
problem is simply have the share name AND the printer name the exact
same. That's all there is to it. I hope this helps out those who are
having this problem.

Thanks
