printing a list of file names for images in a Publisher document

I have about 35 Publisher booklets each of which contain on average 25
images, linked from files. For documentation purposes I want to get a
printed list of all the image files used in each document.

I can use the Tools-->Graphics Manager to display a list of the linked
files, but I can not then copy this list, eg to Word. Is there any way you
can suggest to solve this ?

The graphics manager is a tear-off menu, which means you can lengthen it. Do a
print screen and paste into Paint, crop. Any capture program will work.
I tried the OCR, didn't work.

Thanks for that information.

I can now get a copy of the list of linked files into the clipboard - but
only those files which are visible on the screen.

How do I lengthen the list so that the whole list is copied to the
clipboard? (No doubt this is something very simple, but I've looked for a way
to do it with no success.) But you've got me half way there now !!

'll start playing with some other OCR packages to see if I can get them to
work on the part of the liost I have managed to copy.

I've had success with the OCR step.

I did Print Screen; Opened file in an image package (Picture Window from
Digital Light and Colour) ; Cropped; resized to about 4 times original size;
Saved as a TIFF file; Opened Micrososft Offcie Document Imaging; Clicked
Recognise Trext Using OCR; Tools--> Send Text to Word . (I think this is what
you were sugesting I did).

The text had a lot of OCR errors in it at first, but when I added in the
resize step the errors reduced to a manaegable level.

So all I need now is how to lengthen the screen.

Thanks for everything so far.

You can lengthen the graphics manager menu by tearing it off. Up on the left
corner grab the menu and drag it to your screen, position it as high as you can.
You may need to do a print screen twice.
A really great program you can evaluate has a scrolling capture.
It can be found here:

The program is called SnagIt.
Once you use it, you will never go back to print screen again.
