Printing expanded folder tree while "exploring"

Jamie

I need to rearrange some folders (and theior cintents and need to be able to
print the expanded folder tree for visual reference while I am moving items.
How can I do this? (There are too many folders to do a screen print - I
would need about 30 screen prints and that's too hard to work from.) Please
help if you can.

You could use the command line program "Tree" and output to a text file
and print that.

At the command prompt Tree /? for usage

example

Tree /A > C:\treelist.txt

would produce a text file containing the tree in ascii characters.

I have no idea how to do that. I don't know anything about "Command line
programs" Can you be more specific?

To get there, click Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt. to
leave type Exit. It is also covered in Windows Help.

I tried that and got "access denied"

Is this a managed PC? Company owned and on a Domain? If so then the
Administrator has prevented access due to security reasons, and you
should contact them for a work around. If this is your home PC, your
system is likely compromised, and needs to be disinfected from the malware.

There is a free Directory Printer here:

The program is compatible with Windows XP, not sure about Vista.

Thanks! This program works, it just doesn't look very pretty. Have to do a
little formatting to get it to look right.
