Printing images in Publisher 2002

I tried creating a business card with Publisher 2002. I
inserted a jpg image (had to resize it as it was huge in
Publisher)added text and everything looked great. I made a
test print on my color printer but the image came out grainy.

I use to use a old Publisher style program by Microsoft-
don't remember the name and didn't have this problem with
the same printer.

How did you resize? You will get better quality by taking the image into an editing
program and resampling.

When I insert an image (Insert-Picture-From File) the image
(in this case a 70kb jpg image)is too large and I resize it
in Publisher.

Depending on how much you re-sized it and what the picture resolution is how
it will appear when printed.

Sounds like the picture is to low a resolution. The picture needs to be a
minimum of 100dpi and preferably 150dpi.
The problem you describe is not a problem of Publisher, but the picture.

Thanks, I'll look into it.
