Problem after installing Outlook 2002 after removing Outlook 2003

My laptop came preinstalled with Office 2003 as a trial 60 day offer. I
removed it after being unable to access my email using Outlook 2003. I
thought removing it then installing Office XP would be enough to get it to
work.

However, I keep getting the same message as I did before.

when I click send/receive
"Unable to open item. Please try again"

when I open Outlook XP itself
"Unable to start processing services. Could not open item. Try again."

the outlook bar with "inbox", "contacts", "calendar", etc. does not have any
of the icons or buttons

Please help me because this is like the fourth time I'm asking for help.

thanks the link helped. creating a new profile it was easy as that.
