Problem Importing Outlook 2000 PST file into Outlook 2003

T

Tony G.

I'm replacing a Pc running XP and Office 2000 with a new pc running XP and
Office 2003. The install went fine. When I imported the PST file into outlook
2003, I wanted to replace the original set of folders outlook came with.
Instead it gave me two sets of folders: the basis set that came with outlook
and my set that included all the folders from my old Pc.

I tried uninstalling Office, reinstalling it and adding a new PST file, but
it still has two sets of folders. How do I modify it so I only have my
original set of folders in Outlook 2003?

Thanks,

Tony G.

Number one, NEVER import a .pst file, use File->open to access the data.
Then, in Outlook 2003, go to Tools->Options->Mail Setup tab. Open the
Accounts option, configure your defaul .pst file (rename the one you want to
use first to something like nameoutlook.pst) to be used and delete the other
one.
