Problem loading Publisher 2000

Karl

I have a mirrored raid system running windows 2000 and am
having trouble loading publisher 2000. All seems to go
well until you open publisher and exit the catalog, then
an error message is generated to the effect that MSPUB.exe
has generated errors and will be closed, etc. and that
ends with publisher closing and I suppose an error log
being written someplace. I have downloaded the updates
from MS, uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing???

I have the same problem. It seems to have appeared
suddenly. I'm running a W2k Pro laptop. Also, when I open
Publisher 2k and then try to open an existing file, I get
the following error message: "The instruction
at '0x77fcb3ad' referenced memory at '0x00000000'. The
memory could not be written. Click O.K. to terminate the
program." So far I have not been able to correct this
problem. I've even gone so far as to uninstall and
reinstall MS Office. Please Help!

Karl can you please tell us what the full error message is.

It is imperative to have the error message to rectify the problem.

Rikker load the MS Generic Text Printer driver, make sure the name of the
printer is no longer than 8 characters and no spaces.

Set that as the default printer. Then re-boot, and start Publisher and see
if you still have the error message.

If you do, advise the full error message.

If you don't, download the latest version of the printer driver from the
website of your printer manufacturer.

UN-install the printer driver of your main printer and when it asks "do you
want to want to remove files no longer needed" answer YES

Then reboot and install the new printer driver and make sure the name of the
printer is no longer than 8 characters and no spaces.

This should fix your problems. Post back if it does not.
