Problem of .81 day in MS Project 2007

rajandroid

When I entered my tasks in MS Project and assigned a date e.g. Star
Date: 26th Aug 2008 and Finish Date: 26th Aug 2008 then this task i
considered as 0.81 day task and if finish date is 27th Aug 2008 the
it's shown as 1.81 days task. I'm still struggling to resolve this. Whe
I go to Tracking mode and start entering Actual Start/Actual End the
I'm not getting actuals. I'm sure that this problem is because of one o
the calendar (Organization/Project/Resource). Please help me.
Thanks in advance...

Hi rajandroid ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This sounds like a mis-match of hours settings. You might like to see FAQ

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

As Mike said. Also it sounds like your default Start and End times on the
Calendar options page do not match the start and end of the workday in your
project calendar. And also, it's a fundemental error to "assign" start and
end dates to tasks. Project is not intended to document a schedule you have
already created elsewhere. You don't tell it start and end dates, it tells
you start and end dates. Its fundamental reason for existence is to compute
the tasks' schedules for you, telling you when you ought to be scheduling
them.
