Problem - Outlook 2007 stops working under Vista

Y

Y.A

Outlook 2007 stops working every time 10 seconds after I run it under
Windows Vista.
In the event viewer I have this:

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 12.0.4518.1014, time stamp
0x4542840f, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000af1c9, process id
0xc30, application start time 0x01c747849b157af9.

I tried to solve the problem with no success by doing this:
1. Reinstall/repair outlook 2007
2. disabled all the adding in Outlook 2007.

Any idea how to solve it ?
thanks

Just guessing but, the last time I saw that
error was in RC1 and it turned out to be a
RAM addressing problem.
Try a check of the RAM.

I'm seeing the same problem. Outlook 2007 worked fine before upgrading to
Vista Ultimate yesterday. Now Outlook crashes after receiving new mail. May
be a coincedence, but it seems to coincide with when the alert notifications
pop up. I haven't been able to get Outlook to succesfully load. Here is the
event log message:

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 12.0.4518.1014, time stamp
0x4542840f, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp

Why do you use outlook with Vista? Windows mail is exactly the same program
except it is integrated into the OS.

I'm using the full Outlook pro client & syncing with my PDA for contacts,
tasks, calendars, etc. between home and work.

Anyway, I shut off the alert notifications in Outlook and the problem seems
to have gone away. It's weird as my wife's account on the same PC did not
have this issue - the only difference that I detected was that she had no
calendar and task alerts. Must be some integration issue between Outlook &
Vista for notifications?

No, Windows Mail is a completely different program from Outlook, analogous to Outlook Express in earlier versions of Office.

That's about the stupidest things I've read all day. Windows Mail is
re-packaged Outlook Express. Outlook is . . . Well, Outlook and is so much
more than WindowsMail.

I mean, seriously, perhaps people ought to have to pass a test to be able to
post of forums.

IN any case, I am having the same problem as the original poster. Getting
"Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 11.0.8118.0, time stamp
0x456628bf, faulting module ntdll.dll" every time I start Outlook after my
Vista Upgrade.

I've installed Outlook 2007. Uninstalled 2007, re-installed Outlook 2003,,
uninstalled it, ran detect and repair and all to no avail. Some postes refer
to invalid plug-in. The only "plug-in" I have was AVG Antivirus. I
uninstalled it and still ahve the same problem.

Other posts refer to removing a "performance" registry entry. No deal for me.

If anyone comes up with a solution, it would be most apprecaited if you
could post it here.

If all else fails, I will use Windows Mail I have so much in my calendar and
so many contacts that I really don't wanna do that.

Well, that's not really true. Windows Mail is what was Outlook Express, not
Outlook.

Did you create a new mail profile?

I have installed Vista Ultimate from MSDN. On clear Windows (without any
optional drivers and programs) I have installed

Visual Studio 2005 Professional EN. But when I try opening Visual Studio it
always closes !

In Event log is description like previous posts:

Faulting application devenv.exe, version 8.0.50727.42, time stamp
0x4333e699, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp

0xd18, application start time 0x01c751532be98c50.

The same error is when I try open documentation of Vista SDK (after
installation it on my system)

I have try SP1 for Visual Studio 2005 and SP1 Beta on Vista but the error
with ntdll.dll doen't disappear.

On second my PC, also with AMD AthlonXP, Nforce2, GForce6, visual studio
2005 doesn't run and throw the same error with ntdll.dll -:(

IWhat about this error? Can anyone help me?

I also have been running Outlook 2007 for several months and this morning it
stopped working about 10 seconds after loading each and every time. I also
repaired and reinstalled but no help. After reading this post, I disabled
alert notification and it immedaitely started working again. thanks.

Not sure if you are facing the same problem I had. Tortured me for a long 3
weeks. Nothing I found online worked. Office Diagnostics could not help too.
Hope it works for you as it did for me. What a relief.

Mine was a case of corrupted PST/OST file. Repair using
scanpst.exe/scanost.exe that comes with Outlook may not work, so try renaming
your offline file, eg. "outlook.ost" to "outlook_old.ost", and let Outlook
builds a new one again the next time it starts up.

Good luck! And let me know if it's solved at (e-mail address removed).
