problem receiving e mails. Says received 9 only 7 appear in box

I am having problems receiving e mails in Outlook 2000. Message says
receiving 9 but only 7 appear in box. Can anyone help me? Do I need to change
any settings? I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling but this has not helped

Do you know that you did not receive all nine messages? Did rules or the
junk folder grab some and move them from your inbox where you would not see
them?

Lastly, and this is a plea to all users of this forum, ALWAYS POST YOUR
VERSION OF THE PROGRAM!!!!!!
