Problem sending report in excel format

For several years I have been running an Access macro that sends a report in
the Excel format via MS Outlook. Now, it will no longer send it in Excel.
The macro is also sending the same report as a snapshot, which works fine.
Did MS do something to prevent sending excel spreadsheets?
