Problem Uninstalling Office XP

My Excel was corrupt so I uninstalled Office. When I try
to reinstall (using a CD), I get a message that a
previous version of XP has been detected and to uninstall
before I reinstall. I have uninstalled everything
related to Office XP that I can find. Any help will be
very much appreciated.
