Problem with Headings.....

P

PortisHead

I've copied some lines of text from a web site into a Microsoft Word
2000 Document.
Then....I wanted to select some sentences and format them as
Headings...so I can create a Table of Index at the first page.

The problem is that every single line in my Word document that I copied
is of Style type :
Normal(Web)
and it is impossible to change them to something like :
Heading 1 or Heading 2
in order to create the Index.

It remains Normal(Web) !!!

Why is this happening ???

Many thanks in advance......

It's happening because you copied and pasted html (hypertext mark up
language). From now on if you want to copy something from the web you
need to use Paste Special. Copy the text you want and then click on
Edit | Paste Special | Unformatted text. That should take care of your
problem for you.
