Problem with links and constraints

Mike Kiekover

I have a couple projects in which I linked all the tasks, and it set the
time line up as expected. Now if I go into them and modify the "work" of a
particular task, the task next in line does not adjust the start date
accordingly. The constraint type is "as soon as possible", but no matter
what I do with predecessors (even delete links altogether) the start date of
the task in question does not change. I can modify the start date by
actually changing the start date in the task information dialog, but I know
I've had this work properly in the past.

Any Clues???

TIA

Go to Tools>Options>Calculation tab and be sure the Calculation option
is set to Automatic.

Mike,
In addition to what Sarah suggested, if the successor task has any
progress logged (i.e. % complete > 0% and/or an entry other than "NA" in
the Actual Start field), the task will not move.
